The SBMC is a recognized nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and is a member of the Santa Barbara Performing Arts League.

The SBMC does not pay fees to its performers.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Santa Barbara Music Club is to contribute to the musical life of our community through the following: (1) Presentation of an annual series of concerts, free to the public, featuring outstanding solo and chamber music performances by members and invited guests; (2) Promotion of American music and artists; (3) Presentation of workshops and other community outreach activities, including bringing great music to residents of area retirement homes; (4) Aiding and encouraging musical education by the disbursement of scholarships to talented local music students.

Governance

The SBMC is governed by a Board of Directors, and activities are carried out by committees. The Board of Directors consists of elected officers, committee chairs and other designated members. Committees include Concert, Development, Hospitality, Membership, Nominating, Publicity, Scholarship and Workshops/Community Outreach.
