2010 Scholarship Guidelines
Scholarships will be awarded based on merit and need. Monetary value, number of scholarships, and number of times an individual may receive a scholarship will be determined by the Scholarship Committee.Auditions will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at First Congregational Church, 2101 State Street (corner Padre), Santa Barbara. Applicants will be notified of scholarship decisions on or before April 10.
Application Instructions
Eligibility
- Scholarship eligibility is limited to residents of Santa Barbara County.
Applicants must currently be studying in, or have graduated from,
schools within the County of Santa Barbara (including home schooling).
Students coming from outside the county to attend college in Santa Barbara County
are not eligible. P.O. Box addresses are not acceptable.
- Applicants should be pursuing their musical education in classical music.
- Age limits within calendar year of application:

Instrumental - 25 years
Vocal - 30 years
Audition Requirements
- Proficiency Level: Intermediate to Advanced levels
- Repertoire:
-
Instrumental - Two contrasting works from different historical periods
Vocal - Two contrasting works, in different languages and from different historical periods
Additional Requirements
- Scholarships are primarily for tuition, and funds should be used to further future
musical education. Travel, instruments and related expenses may also be
considered at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
- Applicants are responsible for securing their own accompanists.
Application Package
Package should include- Application form, signed and dated
- Two current letters of recommendation, one of which must be from the student's
current teacher. Recommendations must be in sealed envelopes, with recommender's
signature across envelope seal, and must be included in the application package.
Email recommendations will not be accepted, and incomplete applications will not be
considered.
Application Deadline
Applications must be postmarked by March 13, 2010.
